Blog Post # 28 The Day before!

1. You will have your rehearsal at the venue and the Groom's dinner this day. The entire wedding party and family will head to the venue to practice for your big day. This tends to be more casual and is usually a fun time for the wedding party to get to know each other before the wedding.

2. Planning the Groom's dinner. Traditionally the groom's family plans and pays for the Groom's dinner. Since the wedding day will reflect mostly the bride, this is a way to show the groom's personality and let it shine. Since my son in law's family was from India, they were going to plan food and the theme for my daughter and son in law that reflected his personality and heritage. Unfortunately, they locked down travel from India a month before the wedding so our family helped with the food and decorations and we tried to make the most of it. We ended up decorating in plaid as my son in law loves the up north feel. We also had photos in frames that were Indian themed of the couple and ended up having asian food which he loved.

For my son's wedding, he is an avid climber and adventurer so we are going with a travel theme. Old suitcases for the tables with vases of flowers, small globes and photos in frames from their travel themed engagement shoot. We are also going to have old post cards on each table so the people in the wedding party can give the couple travel advice. We are looking forward to this and their wedding the end of May!

3. Drop off any decor and signs that will be used for the wedding the day before.

4. Hand out a detailed schedule of the wedding day with contact phone numbers for everyone in the wedding party and those playing a key role in the ceremony and reception.

5. Make breakfast plans for the wedding party and delegate people to bring snack food or sandwiches for the wedding party to eat through out the day.

6. Get a good night's sleep and have an amazing Wedding day!
