Blog Post #19 What Do I need to Do Now? It's 6 months Until We Say I Do!

So if you are wondering what is now left to do and your wedding is 6 months away, make sure you don't just sit back and wait. Here are some little known things you may not know you can do this far out.

  1. Look up stationery for your wedding invitations and think about getting them ordered. Most brides are resorting to a do-it-yourself invitation site like Shutterfly, Walmart photo lab, Zola or Zazzle. You can also look on Etsy, Use The Knot, Paper Source, or Vista Prints. Just like with your Save the Dates, the possibilities are endless and there is a ton of options to fit every wedding style and budget. One great tip: it won't matter if you send some people one kind of invitation and some another, (they usually won't compare their invite with Aunt Shirley) so getting used stationery that you print yourself could be an option, from a used wedding decoration shop. This can help you significantly cut costs.

  2. Research and book any items you may need to hire but forgot to do earlier. Examples are: A Wedding Planner, a Wedding Videographer, A D.J, a Florist, Transportation from the wedding for the bride and groom, block off a bunch of rooms for close family and friends at a hotel near the venue.
