I would recommend having your bachelorette and bachelor parties at least a month or two before your wedding. Sometimes this is not possible as you want to include people that will only be in town for the big day. If you decide you want to do your parties closer to your wedding date, make sure you have a day or two to recuperate before your actual wedding day. Some suggestions for bachelorette parties: Renting a hotel room with your bridesmaids or an air B & B in a town where there is a lot to do and the fun will easily unfold. Doing a winery or a pub crawl is always fun. Going to a theme park or concert together or a big trend right now is destination bachelorette parties. You can hit vegas, a beach in florida or any other destination and make huge memories with your squad. My daughter had her bachelorette the weekend of her bridal shower. She loves water parks so they opted to rent a suite for the ladies at a hotel in our home town that had a water park. They went to dinner and then went to the water park and had a fantastic time together making memories and ended the night in the suite playing games, eating snacks and enjoying beverages and movies together. This enabled most of the bridesmaids to attend both events without them having to travel more than one time.
Some ideas for the guys: A day at the shooting range, golfing together, a day on the lake boating and tubing, hitting up a race track together, or going to a concert, renting a cabin and having a day on the lake fishing, 4 wheeling together, a day of paintball, or nerf wars, camping, a day of hiking, or rock climbing or even sky diving together, or anything else that the groom may like that fits his personality.
