Blog Post #9 Creating Your "Save the Dates"

Updated: Mar 27, 2022

Some people wonder if sending a Save the date card is necessary? This is a newer trend that most couples choose to do because it allows people to plan ahead and mark your wedding date on their calendars up to 9 months in advance. With how busy everyone's lives are now, sending an inexpensive save the date to give your loved ones a head's up is a super great idea. This enables people to book hotel rooms and save up for the event. Especially the people who are in your wedding party.

Most people use photos from their engagement shoot to create a unique and fun inexpensive Save the Date card. You can create them yourself on any photo invitation site. Our daughter created her own Save the Dates and printed them herself with a home color printer. She utilized the photos from their engagement shoot in downtown Minneapolis that reflected their unique personalities and incorporated their "Go To" spot of a favorite movie theater and their favorite hobby "Swing Dancing" into their save the dates.

Popular suggestions are: Shutterfly, Paper Source, Zazzle, Zola, Minted, Mixbook, Vista, print, or any photo ordering site like Walmart photo lab.
